This reflects the following statement from the abstract: ”In order to effectively overcome ethnic segregation, we need to identify those factors within diverse settings that exacerbate the tendency toward ethnic homophily.” The selected claim is tested using a two-step procedure. In a first step, the authors estimate ethnic homophily in classes using exponential random graph models (ERGMs) for each school class separately. In a second step, the authors examine the combined effects using a metaregression. The exact model we are asked to replicate comes from  Table 3, Model 2. The focal estimate concerns the coefficient on the “Proportion natives” variable. The models predict the level of ethnic homophily in the classroom.
